Sea Transportation

The main, and most convenient method of transportation to Dongyin is by sea. You can take the Tai-Ma Ferry from Keelung to Dongyin. The ferry runs 6 times a week (except on Tuesdays).

The Tai-Ma Ferry needs to dock at both Dongyin Harbor and Nangan Harbor. Therefore, the ferries are scheduled to reach Nangan Harbor first on odd numbered days, and reach Dongyin Harbor on even numbered days. On odd number days, if the late-night ferry is scheduled as a "First Matsu Then Dongyin" ferry, it would arrive at Nangan Fuau Harbor at 6:30 a.m. the next morning. On even number days, if the late-night ferry is scheduled as a "Dongyin-Matsu-Dongyin-Taiwan" ferry, it would arrive at Nangan Fuau Harbor at around 9 a.m. the next morning. Traveling in between Dongyin and Nangan on the Tai-Ma Ferry takes about 2 hours.

Every year, starting from May, the Tai-Ma ferry itinerary changes to "Dongyin First" every day (meaning it will dock at Dongyin first, before heading to Nangan). On odd numbered days, there will be the "First Dongyin Then Matsu" ferry (which docks at Dongyin first before heading to Nangan).

And on even numbered days, there will be the "Dongyin-Matsu-Dongyin-Taiwan" ferry (which heads to Dongyin first, then to Nangan, then back to Dongyin, and heads back to Keelung in the end). Please take note of all the related ferry schedule notices on the Tai-Ma Ferry website.
